Description

For this project, we installed four caissons for bridge abutments and piers. The caissons were 132” diameter shafts with 126” diameter rock sockets. The shafts ranged from 48 to 65 feet deep. We used full-length reinforcing and permanent casing, and poured SCC Concrete using the tremie method.

Description

Who doesn’t love Kennywood? Shelly Drilling is proud to have worked on the most recent addition to Kennywood Park. Kennywood engineered the new Steel Curtain roller coaster to have 152 caissons , and they ranged from 42” up to 90” diameter. The shafts needed socketed into sandstone rock anywhere from 5’ up to 11’ deep.
